The Beagle is a monthly newsletter for animal shelters in Cuyahoga County, Ohio. It offers local stories about how the community is helping shelters throughout each month. It features a two-color print. The newsletter uses a baseline grid layout for easy reading as well as a column grid. The newsletter is a four-page bi-fold with no use of bleed to mimic newspapers. The Beagle’s logo features a Slab Serif font called Rockwell Bold. Rockwell Bold represents the newspaper look. The body copy font Open Sans were chosen for its readability and various weights. Dark purple and Light pink represents the love and ambition the newsletter evokes in its stories. The newsletter features various call outs and pull quotes to grab the reader’s attention. The newsletter is a mailer that is compliant with the United States
Postal Service’s guidelines.
